What does this service provide?
Who we are
Our multi-disciplinary team (MDT) includes consultants, doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, rehabilitation engineers, clinical scientists, audiologists, podiatrists, dentists, ophthalmologists, orthotists and radiologists.
Multi-disciplinary team: A multidisciplinary team (MDT) is a group of health and care professionals from one or more organisations who come together to discuss how best to care for you.
We also have a range of visiting consultants that support clinics from the acute hospitals in Brighton and London. Depending on the needs of the young person being referred different people from the different teams might attend different appointments.
What we do
At Chailey Clinical Services we offer 26 outpatient clinics, of which 11 are consultant led.
Our clinics may be led by a specialist clinician or by a multi-disciplinary team to ensure our patients access the right expertise to meet their needs during their visit. This may include input from visiting specialist consultants, podiatrists, and ophthalmologists.
Appointment information
Following your appointment, our Outpatient teams will write a report detailing what was discussed and any possible treatment that was required or is needed. It will be sent to the patient, parent/carer and GP, and any other relevant professionals.
If any further appointments are required, our admin team will be in touch with a future appointment date and any other referrals that are required through the clinic appointment will be sent to the relevant NHS professional.
Appointment types
We offer face to face, telephone and video consultations.
Our outpatient clinic is the main location for appointments but sometimes they can take place at the patient’s home, school or at another service provider.
