What does this service provide?
Who we are
Our multi-disciplinary team comprises of a consultant clinical engineer (who is the lead clinician), an occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, consultant paediatrician, physiotherapist and rehabilitation engineer.
We are a team of specialist speech and language therapists, who have experience in a wide range of complex speech and language problems.
What we do
Our specialist speech and language therapists provide advice and a more detailed assessment of each patient's speech and language difficulties.
We can also provide a second opinion if your speech and language difficulties haven't been responded to conventional treatment methods.
Following an assessment, we’ll discuss an appropriate treatment plan and liaise with your local services where necessary.
If there are any associated problems, for example, hearing or ear, nose, and throat (ENT) issues, we can recommend other investigations.
We may ask your consent for any photo or video recordings needed to help with the assessment.
A report of our assessment will be sent to you within 3 weeks of your appointment documenting the results and our discussions. It will be sent to you, your GP, referrer, and any other relevant individuals. We will also liaise with your local speech and language therapy service, school, or college to set up a programme to help you with your speech and language if appropriate.
