There will be a number of changes to the Executive Board at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) this Spring.

Siobhan Melia will return to the role of Chief Executive at the Trust on 1 April following her secondment to South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) as Chief Executive in June 2022.

During this time, Mike Jennings took on the role of Interim Chief Executive at SCFT. Mike will return to his role as Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer on Siobhan’s return.

Ed Rothery, who covered the role of Chief Financial Officer, will return to his role as Deputy Chief Financial Officer.

SCFT’s Chair, Peter Horn, has extended his thanks to the Trust’s Executive team: “Siobhan’s secondment would not have been possible were it not for the strength of our Executive team here at SCFT. On behalf of the Board and the Council of Governors, I would like to thank Mike for his dedication, passion and an unwavering commitment to doing the right thing for our patients, and also to Ed for ably stepping up to become a valued member of the team.

“I am sure that everyone will join me in welcoming Siobhan back to SCFT as we embark on delivering our new strategy and continue with our mission to deliver excellent care at the heart of the community.”

Peter Horn has also announced his intention to step down as Chair of SCFT after six years, and two terms, in the role.

Speaking of his decision, Peter said: “During my time as Chair, I have been inspired, sometimes humbled and, on occasion, blown away by the commitment, kindness and compassion of our staff. While the decision to stand down is a difficult one, I leave SCFT knowing that it will continue to flourish, with a strong leadership team at the helm.”
