Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce its Hilltop Nursery has been rated as “Good” following its recent Ofsted Inspection.

This achievement means all three Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust nurseries have secured "Good" ratings from Ofsted in 2023.

The "Good" rating signifies the nursery's commitment to maintaining high standards and delivering effective care and learning experiences for children in the county. Ofsted highlighted the welcoming and friendly environment within the nursery, the opportunities for children to play and explore outside, and the strong relationships nursery staff build with the children to help them feel safe and secure.

Head of Trust Nurseries, Cara Mitchell, said: "We are absolutely delighted to receive a 'Good' rating from Ofsted for Brighton Hilltop Nursery. This recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our staff, who go above and beyond to provide a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for the children in our care.”

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust’s three nurseries provide childcare to those working within the NHS, blue light services, education, and families in the local community. The nurseries care for 95 children per day, with ages ranging from one-year-old to school age.

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust Chief People Officer, Caroline Haynes said: "This is a great achievement for our Trust and a testament to the work of our nursery teams. Our nurseries play an important role in supporting not only our staff, but our local communities and it’s great to have their hard work recognised by Ofsted.”
