We are proud to announce that Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT), in partnership with The Public Service Consultants have won silver in the Patient Safety Collaboration of the Year category at this year’s HSJ Partnership Awards. The award recognised how we have reduced waiting time for the most vulnerable.

There were many of our people involved with the Patient Safety Collaboration project and it was rolled out to 32 services across the Trust.

Working together, the team developed risk-based waiting time standards across services, enabling them to prioritise vulnerable patients and eliminate inequalities between services.

Lloyd Barker, our Deputy Chief Operating Officer comments, “We’re just so thrilled to have won silver in the Patient Safety Collaboration of the Year category which really endorses all the efforts that went into planning and implementing the successful Waiting Times project.

“I am particularly proud because this project has involved a large number of staff across the organisation from clinical staff, operational leaders, digital and business intelligence experts and quality improvement leads.  This is a great example of the way SCFT staff from all areas pull together to deliver meaningful improvements in the care delivered to patients.”

Winners were announced during a ceremony held at Evolution London on Thursday 21 March.
