Are you passionate about the health and wellbeing of children and young people in Sussex?
And would you enjoy representing their interests on our Trust, the county’s main provider of NHS community services?
If your answer to both questions is ‘yes’, we would like to invite you to apply to join our Council of Governors.
Our Council of Governors consists of 28 governors. Eight are appointed and two of these appointees represent children and young people.
We are keen to fill a vacancy for a Children and Young People Governor to start from 1 April.
Governors, whether they are ‘appointed’, ‘public’ (15 in total) or ‘staff’ (five in total), play an essential role in our Trust by:
Appointed governors each serve a two-year term and can stand again for a further two terms.
All governors must attend a minimum of four formal meetings each year, although many who serve choose to become more involved.
Each position is voluntary but full training is provided and reasonable expenses are paid.
If you would like to apply, please complete this application form, and return it to our Deputy Trust Secretary, Paul Somerville, at the address provided before the application deadline on Friday, 25 February 2022.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a discussion with the Appointments Committee in early to mid-March.
They will be informed of the outcome of their application before the end of March.
Further information about the application process is available from Paul by calling 01273 696011 ext. 1520 or emailing paul.somerville@nhs.net.
