Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust’s (SCFT’s) Chief Executive, Siobhan Melia, has once again been ranked in the Health Service Journal's (HSJ's) top 50 NHS Chief Executives.

Now in its ninth year, the ranking recognises the best NHS leaders at Trusts in England.

The judging panel includes some of healthcare’s leading figures and they consider a number of criteria when compiling the list, including the performance of the Chief Executive over the last year, the performance of the organisation they lead, and the contribution the Chief Executive has made to the wider health and social care system.

On receiving this recognition, Siobhan Melia said: “It is an honour to be included on this list alongside so many talented NHS Chief Executives. This wouldn’t be possible without the support of the amazing staff we have working across SCFT and I want to thank them for their ongoing hard work and commitment to providing excellent care at the heart of the community.”

Siobhan Melia has worked in the NHS since 1996 in a variety of roles and has a clinical background in podiatry. Siobhan joined SCFT in 2013 from Telefonica UK, where she headed up their Telehealth division. She held roles including Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Partnerships and Commercial Development before being appointed Chief Executive in September 2016.

Siobhan is currently on secondment to South East Coast Ambulance Service as Chief Executive but will return to SCFT on 1 April 2023.
