Almost three quarters of staff who completed our annual staff survey would recommend Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust as a place to work. This is just one of the positive results from this year's NHS Staff Survey results which were released today.

This year, an impressive 3,981 questionnaires were completed by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) staff, giving a phenomenal response rate of 72%. It is also the third year running that our response rate has stayed above 70%.

The survey is a key opportunity for our people to have their voice heard and the feedback received helps us to set out our agenda for improvements each year.

Our headline results are:

  • 74% of colleagues would recommend the organisation as place to work. This is a 5% increase from 2022 and 6% higher than the national average
  • 80% of colleagues would recommend our Trust as place to receive treatment. This score is 2% higher than 2022 and 3% above the national average
  • 82% of colleagues believe care of patients/service users is our organisation's top priority. This result is 1% higher than our 2022 score and is in line with the national average
  • the results show that our Trust has significantly improved on all parts of the NHS People Promise, a promise that we make to each other to improve our working experience

I'm really delighted with our results this year. More of our people have responded than the year before, which is a great sign of how important they feel the NHS Staff Survey is and the difference it makes.

This week, every year, is incredibly important to me because I really care about how colleagues feel about working at SCFT.

I'm incredibly proud that 74% of our people have said SCFT is somewhere they would recommend as a place to work and we will be focusing on how we can improve this further.
