How can I access this service?
Parents and carers can ask any health professional or educational setting who knows their child to complete a referral form and send it into the Child Development team.
Usually the GP, hospitals, School Nurse, Health Visitor or SENCO will refer a child, with the parents' permission. All information given will be treated as confidential, however it is normal practice for staff at the Child Development Centre to share information with professional colleagues who may be able to assist in the correct advice for your child. If you do not wish this to happen, please let us know.
We can arrange for an interpreter or translator to attend the appointment, if required, provided prior notice has been received.
We do not currently accept parental referrals when a child or young person first is referred to the Child Development Services.
How can I contact this service?
Clinic locations are linked to where a patient lives and any correspondence will provide you with contact information for your local centre.
Where can I find resources for this service?
Autism assessment waiting list support
We know families may need additional support while waiting for an Autism Assessment for their child.
Our workshops and drop-in sessions may be helpful for those on the waiting list to be assessed at Brighton Child Development Centre.
