I recently served a full term of three years as elected Chichester governor for the Western Sussex Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which merged to form the much larger University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
I strongly believe in putting service users first ensuring that their experience and that of everyone concerned with their care is as good as it can possibly be. Having a hands-on approach, I hold other voluntary NHS roles.
I am a Research Champion and a fully trained ‘Knowing Me' dementia volunteer supporting clinical staff in a secure ward.
During the pandemic I set up a pop-up shop providing essentials for staff. I will devote as much time, effort and energy as needed to be effective in holding the directors to account and raising awareness of the Trust. I am open minded, friendly, approachable, and willing to go the extra mile. I have strong links to our community.
I will enthusiastically use my experience and skills to listen, learn and support the Trust. It is an honour and a privilege to serve as your local governor. I am fully committed to make as full and constructive a contribution as possible.
