Fundraising

The League of Friends has been supporting patients and staff at Horsham Hospital since 1959. Friends hold regular events to raise funds for equipment and facilities for the Hospital. Recent donations have included water coolers for two departments, Christmas activities in wards, a metro line cart for the Horizon Unit, and fridges and tables. Other items have been approved and will be purchased.

Friends provide volunteer-run amenities including a shop and a tea bar, which are located near the main entrance to the hospital. You can always be sure of a good cuppa and a friendly smile!

The shop sells a range of goods, including cards and chocolates, as well as items that patients might need during their stay.

The League also works to raise awareness of the Hospital in the community. New members are always welcome, whether you wish to make a donation or help as a volunteer.

How to apply for a grant

If the Trust is not able to meet your request, then the Friends may be able to help. Any staff based in Horsham Hospital or supporting Horsham patients are able to apply for funding for projects as described within the Friends’ constitution. Once discussed with the League of Friends Support team, staff are requested to complete an application form which can be provided either by the League of Friends Support team or from the Friends directly at This email address is being protected from spambots. For all grant requests, attendance at the Friends’ Executive Committee is requested.
