The Sussex Snowdrop Trust

Caroline has been a Family Support Volunteer with The Sussex Snowdrop Trust  for the last 5 years and has turned her hand to many tasks in order to meet the needs of families where a child has a life-threatening or life-limiting condition. On a regular basis and often at short notice, Caroline has driven families to appointments all over the south coast and even to London Hospitals (drivers willing to go to London are rare!)  She has accompanied our Family Support Worker out on trips so that a sibling and Snowdrop child can go out together and parents can get some much needed respite for a few hours. When talking about volunteering, Caroline said;

“Being a volunteer can be challenging and rewarding.

Challenging because you find yourself in new situations and rewarding because you meet the most inspirational children and their families.

Every week is different but I love it ... I've giggled , laughed, played, listened, hugged  and cried.

We will be recruiting new volunteers in the near future, particularly for regular, weekly roles and for drivers willing to take families to appointments – especially in London! For more information, please contact Helen Crosby
