At SCFT there is a wide-range of support available to help you to develop your leadership skills.

Whether you're new to leadership or an experienced leader looking to update your understanding, The HiVE will have something for you.

An exciting new programme for everyone at Band 7 and above. 

The masterclasses – delivered in partnership with the Wellbeing Collective – will help you develop new ways of working in partnership and building teams.

If you are already a leader and would like to refresh your skills this could be the course for you.

The content will be underpinned by three core elements:

You will be able to build on existing knowledge and experience of leading and managing people and the course will be an opportunity to share knowledge and experience with your peers.

By the end of the course you will:

  • Be able to critically describe the vision for leadership at SCFT, apply it to your own role and consider how you could use it to develop others
  • Be able to identify how and where you use your leadership skills
  • Reflect on the characteristics of compassionate leadership, and consider how it could be utilised in your role
  • Have created a philosophy of leadership and utilised this to create a development plan to build on your leadership skills

This is course is designed for new leaders and those who are working towards a leadership or management position.

The content will be underpinned by three core elements:

  • SCFT values
  • Compassionate leadership
  • A coaching approach

This course will help you develop knowledge and understanding of the role of the leader, with specific reference to managing people.

By the end of the course you will:

  • be able to describe the vision for leadership in SCFT and apply it to your role
  • have a toolkit of resources to use when leading and managing staff members and colleagues, utilising compassionate leadership and intelligent kindness
  • have reflected on your own communication skills and practised using them in a leadership context
  • have created a development plan to build on your leadership skills

This course is for anyone who wants to understand more about leadership and how it relates to their role. It is particularly relevant for those who are not in a formal leadership role.

The content will be underpinned by three core elements:

The course will introduce the principles of leadership and help you to develop understanding of the importance of leadership behaviours at all levels at SCFT.

By the end you will:

  • Be able to describe the elements of leadership that are part of your role
  • Have practiced using some of the skills for leadership
  • Have created a development plan to build on your leadership skills
