The community paediatric medical team sees children and young by referral from other health professionals and others including social workers, education services and police and provides assessment, diagnosis and medical opinions which may involve arranging clinical investigations by other providers. Ongoing follow up and review, with advice on management, treatment and prescribing where appropriate, is arranged.

Community Paediatrics is provided through the Integrated Child Development and Disability Service. This service is delivered by Brighton & Hove City Council Children and Families Delivery Unit via a Section 75 Provider Agreement. This means that NHS functions have been delegated and NHS staff seconded to an integrated line management structure. The host organisation is the local authority. SCT retain clinical accountability and provide CQC registration for these functions.The service is delivered from Seaside View CDC as part of the Child Development and Disability Team.
