Intravenous (IV) Therapy Service (West Sussex)

The role of the Community IV Therapy Service is to support and facilitate early hospital discharge and avoid admissions of patients to acute trusts through delivery of IV therapies at home. The IV Team supports and trains community nursing teams within Sussex Community NHS Trust to enable the safe administration of IV medications to patients within their care. The development of IV clinics, in some areas of the Trust, is supporting a greater number of patients to remain within the community and for us to deliver care closer to home.
