Saturn Centre, Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) for Sussex

The Saturn Centre is a multi-agency partnership service provided by health, social care and the police. It offers services, advice and support to clients aged 14 and over following a rape or sexual assault.
The service includes:

  • Support of a specially trained police officer (SOLO), for police referrals only
  • A dedicated support worker for the client
  • A forensic medical examination carried out by a trained and experienced doctor
  • Aftercare services including ongoing support and advice from an Independent Sexual Violence Adviser (ISVA) right through to the court process if applicable
  • Access to counselling services

  • How To Access:
    The service can be accessed 24hrs a day all year round via the police who will allocate a specialist officer to support the client through the process.We also accept self referrals during office hours (9am - 5pm) from individuals who may not want police involvement in the first instance. This includes referrals via other services such as GPs, sexual health services and voluntary services.

  • How to find us:
    The Saturn Centre is beside the Urgent Treatment Centre at Crawley Hospital. The main entrance to the hospital is from West Green Drive. Parking is available on site. Crawley train station is 10 minutes walk from the hospital. Crawley bus station is opposite the train station.
