Aims
The Healthy Child Programme team in Brighton and Hove provides community health services to families, children and young people. We ensure all children aged 0-19 years are offered early intervention, prevention and health promotion services, which will help them to achieve their optimum health and well-being.Location and Contact details:

Healthy Child Programme teams are located across the city in or near children's centres. The teams include Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (nurses with an additional degree level qualification in public health; often referred to as health visitors and school nurses), Registered Nurses, Community Nursery Nurses, School Health Assistants, Youth Workers and administrative support.
Specialist Community Public Health Nurses play a crucial role in ensuring that children, young people and families can access appropriate advice and support. The Healthy Child Programme team can support children, young people and families with a variety of issues, including:- Feeding and nutrition
- Behaviour and sleep
- Continence
- Growth
- Relationships
- Parenting support
- Parental mental health
- Emotional wellbeing for young people
- Developmental checks
- Routine vision, hearing screening in school.
- Health Drop in services in school and in community settings
- Text advice for 11-19 year olds
The teams work in partnership with other agencies, such as schools and GPs to develop and deliver plans of care to the most vulnerable children and families. This includes working alongside children's services to safeguard children and young people. - Contact Details:
