What does this service provide?

Who we are

We are a team of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) specialist nurses and practitioners providing information and support to people living with MS in Sussex.

What we do

Our service is for people living with MS as well as their families, children and relatives. We provide ongoing specialist nursing and see patients within their own homes, clinics or other venues.

We provide a variety of support to patients, families and professionals on different aspects of MS. This includes information and support with medication, advice on symptom and fatigue management, treatment options, lifestyle advice and useful information about living with MS. We also hold information days for newly diagnosed patients and refer patients to other services and agencies if needed.

Appointment information

Who you'll see at your appointment

During your appointment you will typically meet one-to-one with one of the MS specialist nurse or practitioners from your local team.

Where your appointment will be

We offer appointments at your own home, at clinics and other venues. This will be communicated to you via your appointment letter.

What happens after your appointment?

After your appointment we will send a letter to your GP and consultant neurologist (if appropriate), highlighting any suggestions of treatment that may be beneficial to you with their agreement. We will make referrals to community teams if needed and arrange a follow up appointment with you as agreed in your initial appointment.

How can I access this service?

To access our local teams we ask that you are registered with a GP in the same locality and have a confirmed diagnosis of MS. We accept referrals from any professional as well as self-referrals as long as the above criteria are fulfilled.
