The community dermatology nurse specialist provides the following:
Supporting and educating patients with long term conditions such as Eczema, Psoriasis Acne/ Rosacea (post first-line treatment) Bacterial/fungal/viral infections of the skin (post first-line treatment)Lower limb dermatosis or their carers where appropriate (including discussion of treatments options allowing for patients choice in the skin disease specific management options)
Independent nurse prescriber: assesses, diagnoses and treat specified dermatology conditions
Provides Cryo therapy clinics to treat and manage benign chronic lesions requiring recurrent treatments
NMC recorded nurse educator (PGCE) - educating patients, community nursing staff and the PHCT

The Community Dermatology Nursing Team currently accepts direct referrals from the following healthcare professionals:
General Practitioners
H/V D/N S/N P/N
Secondary Care dermatology team
Well baby clinics in family centres
Direct referral from patients living with chronic skin diseases, (frequent flyers) e.g. acne/eczema/psoriasis
