Paula Head to leave Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust

Paula Head, chief executive of Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT), is to leave the organisation in the Autumn to take up the chief executive role at Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Paula leaves after a successful three years at the trust, putting the organisation in a strong and stable position on which it can build for the future.

She has overseen delivery of some important milestones including a CQC inspection in December 2014, which rated overall quality of services at the trust as Good. The trust was also authorised as a foundation trust on 1st April 2016.

Sue Sjuve, Trust Chairman said: “Paula has done a fantastic job for us over the last three years and I know will continue to provide strong leadership alongside our very effective executive team and board until she hands over in the autumn. She leaves us having guided the trust to FT status and having created a strong stable platform to allow us to continue to evolve to address the changing needs of the communities we serve.”

Paula Head said: “This has been a difficult decision, but I feel now is the right time for me to move. I am leaving the trust in a strong position. I’m proud to say I have led a Trust where staff are empowered to make a positive difference to people’s care, I know that will continue.”

The Trust is now beginning the process of recruitment to bring in a new Chief Executive to continue the work to achieve the trust’s vision of delivering excellent care at the heart of the community, and our aim of achieving an ‘outstanding’ CQC rating.
