SCFT nurse and friend stage charity front garden concerts to mark NHS birthday

An SCFT nurse will stage two front garden concerts in Hove and Worthing this weekend to mark the 72nd birthday of the NHS and raise cash for the Trust’s official charity.

Tracey O’Reilly, a community sister who works in East Worthing, will join singing partner Melissa in performing songs from the 60s up to present day on Sunday 5 July. They'll be appearing at Hangleton Valley Drive between 1:30 and 3pm, before moving to Greenlands Walk in Durrington, Worthing, to perform the show again from 4:30 until 6pm.

The friends, who usually perform in a group called HALO, are hoping neighbours and visitors will watch the kerbside concerts – at a socially safe distance - and donate some money to SCFT’s Charitable Funds if they like what they hear.

Tracey said: “We thought it would be a great idea to mark the 72nd anniversary of the NHS with a socially distanced concert at our homes, and hopefully raise some money for charity at the same time.

“Hopefully the weather will hold out for us and our neighbours and friends will be come out to support us.”

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust’s Charitable Funds has been supporting staff and patients for 25 years. As a registered NHS charity established for the benefit of patients and staff, it provides grants that help purchase equipment, improve existing facilities, provide staff with additional training opportunities, and enhance the welfare and wellbeing of patients and staff.
