Are you a carer? Find out how you can look after yourself too

If you are a carer who looks after you? Sussex Community NHS Trust (SCT) is organising two information sessions on Carers Rights day - Friday 20 November - where you can come, chat to a trained healthcare professional and get some answers to how your needs can be met.

  • Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital, Marion’s restaurant: 10am – 12noon.
  • Horsham Hospital reception: 10am – 12noon.

If you look after someone with a long term illness or disability it’s important to look after yourself too. Having the right information at the right time can make a huge difference when you are looking after someone.

The sessions will include:

  • Support available for carers.
  • How you can use technology to support you in your caring role.
  • Free blood pressure check.
  • Benefits advice for you and the person you care for.

Wilma Thomas, SCT carers health team service manager said: “Being a carer can be a very difficult and tiring role. We want to support people who do this important job and make sure they look after themselves too.”
