If you haven’t heard already, Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) had a huge presence at Brighton Pride this year and it was fantastic to come together and celebrate the theme of ‘Love, Protest & Unity’.
SCFT is proud to be an inclusive employer, supporting staff and patients to be their true selves, without fear of prejudice or judgement.
Our LGBTQ+ Network marched in the parade, with over 60 SCFT staff creating a fabulous glittery array of red. Plus, our official charity, Sussex Community NHS Charity, held a stall at the event itself, located in the market area of Preston Park.
It was great for our charity to get out into the community and share the work they do, while also encouraging a bit of fun! Plus, very excitingly, it was the first outing of our charity gazebo.
With glitter face painting, goodie bag giveaways, prizes to be won and some more practical gifts (we have had some excellent reviews of our charity pens), it was a day filled with kindness.
You may not have met the real Christina Aguilera, who headlined the ‘We are Fabuloso’ Pride festival on Saturday evening, but did you have a photo taken with our 2D life-size version? We were happy to make some dreams almost come true, with a selfie!
“We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely group of volunteers to lend a helping hand on our charity stall or a more lovely community to chat with. The theme of unity spread throughout Pride and it was great to be part of the event to chat about the projects we support and the positive impact they have on staff, patients and volunteers” said Emma Shepherd from our charity.
A huge thank you to everyone who supported us at Brighton Pride and walked in the parade - we had a fabuloso day, we hope you did too!
