Become a governor and get involved

We have started the process of creating our first Council of Governors.

We have written to all our 5,000 public members across West Sussex and Brighton & Hove, together with all eligible staff, asking them to think about becoming a governor and play a part in achieving our trust’s goals, including becoming a Foundation Trust (FT).

We are the main provider of community health and care in West Sussex and Brighton & Hove. We care for around 8,000 people a day, mostly in their own homes and have recently been inspected by the healthcare regulator the Care Quality Commission, achieving a rating of ‘Good’ for the quality of our services.

Governors will play an important role in the work we do if we are successful in becoming a Foundation Trust, including representing members on key issues; shaping future strategy and services and holding the board of directors to account for the performance of the trust.

Sue Sjuve, Chair of SCT’s board of directors said, “Our Governors will come from all walks of life and have a great variety of experience and knowledge. If someone is passionate about the health and wellbeing of people; enjoys working with and listening to others; has time to come to meetings and get involved and wants to develop their understanding of community health services they would make a great Governor.”
