Sussex Community obtains Cyber Essentials accreditation

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) is proud to have obtained Cyber Essentials accreditation.

The accreditation issued by IASME has assessed and certified SCFT against the Government's Cyber Essentials Scheme. The scheme focuses on the five most important technical security controls and aims to help organisations implement basic levels of protection against cyber-attacks. These controls were identified by the government as those that, if they had been in place, would have stopped the majority of cyber-attacks that have taken place over the past few years. Certification against Cyber Essentials demonstrates that SCFT takes cyber security seriously and that it is better prepared for when a cyber-attack happens.

Matt Pelton, Head of IT, SCFT said: ‘’Achieving this accreditation is a positive step forward for the Trust. It highlights our ongoing commitment to cyber security and to protect the Trust from malicious threats to our information technology.’’
