Important information regarding sharps disposal services in Crawley

From Monday, 9 February 2015 you will no longer be able to leave or replace sharps disposal boxes at the Planned Treatment Centre at Crawley Hospital. 

Crawley Borough Council will instead provide a free collection service for clinical waste. To request a form to arrange collection please contact the Council on 01293 438772 or download a form directly from the Crawley Council website at

You will need to ask your GP or other healthcare professional (Community Nurse, Practice Nurse or Consultant) to sign the form and then send it to Crawley Borough Council either by email: or by post:

Partnership Services Town Hall, The Boulevard, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 1UZ.

Once you are registered the council will arrange to pick up your full box and give you an empty one in exchange.

We are making the change to comply with strict regulations about the disposal of clinically hazardous material such as sharps. Failure to follow the correct processes can pose significant risks to staff, patients, and local residents.
