Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) has jumped more than 140 places in the Stonewall’s list of top LGBT-Inclusive employers.

Every year, Stonewall publish a list of the 100 employers that receive the highest marks in our annual Workplace Equality Index.

The 2019 Index was the largest in the Index’s fifteen-year history, with 445 organisations taking part.

SCFT entered for the second time and this year shot up the rankings by 146 places.

SCFT is now ranked 225 Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index.

Lindsey Stevenson, Chair of the LGBT+ Network, said: “I am pleased with this year’s Workplace Equality Index result; this result reflects the positivity and empowerment that shapes the way in which Trust promotes inclusion.

“SCFT are proud to be Stonewall Diversity Champions. Over the next year we will continue on our journey of improvement in order to promote the Trust as an employer of choice for the LGBT+ community.

Caroline Haynes, Director of HR and OD, said: “I am delighted for everyone involved in our submission and want to say a big thank you to Lindsey Stevenson for all of her hard work chairing the LGBT+ Network.

“It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm that members of our Networks have shown over the last 12 months. I am really looking forward to what 2019 might bring.”

SCFT also has a BAME Network, Disability Network and Religion and Belief Network open to all of its 5,000 strong workforce across Sussex.
