Generous donation to Sussex Rehabilitation Centre

Sussex Rehabilitation Centre (SRC) welcomed kind-hearted fundraisers this week, receiving a donation of over £1000.

Colleagues from SRC met with the Henderson family on Thursday (12 December) to enjoy cake and a chat before a cheque presentation.

Jamie Henderson and family donated £1060 in appreciation for all the support given throughout the year to approximately 60 children coping with limb loss.

Jamie said: “Our daughter Izzy (age 7) was born without fingers on her left hand. The Sussex Rehabilitation Centre in Brighton has supported Izzy since she was a baby and every year they self-fund a Christmas party for kids affected by limb loss.

"These events are invaluable to children like Izzy as they get to meet others in the same boat and enjoy an event without feeling self-conscious.”

Charlie Henderson suggested raising money for the Centre and its events.

A initial target of £500 was doubled with contributions from friends and family.

On behalf of everyone at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, thank you!
