Brighton Pride 2019

We’ve had a truly amazing #SCFTPride season this summer, with the Trust attending Worthing Pride, Trans Pride and Disability Pride for the first time. We ended on a high note too - we’re extremely pleased to announce that last weekend’s Brighton Pride parade was our biggest yet. 80 superstars from across our Trust, along with colleagues from Brighton and Hove CCG, represented us as inclusive employers and healthcare providers.

Led by our rainbow-wrapped low emission Pride car, and dressed in 1980s-themed purple finery, we danced through Brighton to overwhelming cheers and emotional expressions of thanks for our hard work and dedication. This was our third Brighton Pride, but the first time our presence was covered in local and national news, as we appeared in The Argus and on MailOnline.

LGBT+ Network Co-chair Lindsey Stevenson applauded our Trust’s championing of equality and diversity:

“Attending events like Brighton Pride gives us the chance to come together with our colleagues and their loved ones and publicly demonstrate our commitment to inclusion. I think it is vitally important that those who identify as LGBTQIA* in Brighton and Hove and beyond know that we are supporting them as members of their community, and as allies too.”

We would like to thank everyone involved in making our 2019 Pride season such an outstanding success – it means a great deal to us to represent our #CommunityThatCares across Sussex. Time to start planning for 2020!
