120 people gather to celebrate and support NHS administrators
Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) hosted its annual event celebrating and supporting administrators in the NHS.
The Trust held #ValuingAdmin19 at Field Place Manor House in Worthing on Thursday 11 April.
Around 120 colleagues from SCFT services based across East and West Sussex attended the day.
Siobhan Melia, chief executive at SCFT, said: "Administrators make up 20% of our 5,000-strong workforce and without them our teams would not be able to support our patients and service users.
"Last year we had 2.6 million contacts with patients across the county – the contribution of our administrators is phenomenal. Without them we wouldn’t be able to deliver our vision of excellent care at the heart of the community.
"I would like to say a sincere thank you to all of our administrators – I am grateful for everything you do."
The day featured a range of talks and workshops on topics from happiness to quality improvement.
A panel question and answer session on transferable skills featured colleagues with interesting backgrounds and experience.
Mike Dixon, from the National Happiness Service and coordinator of Action for Happiness in Worthing, gave an inspiration talk about the power of positivity.
SCFT is the only Trust in the NHS in England that offers Happiness in Health workshops to staff.
Colleagues heard from our Freedom to Speak Up Guardian Allison Hawes.
There were also session on making the most of your annual appraisals and supervision time.
At last year's event SCFT launched a digital platform for its administrators - called the Admin Hub.
They can use it to share skills, keep up to date with the latest news and find out about training and development.
