Trevor Craske

It was a fellow member of Princes Park Medical Centre Patient Participation Group who told Trevor, of Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne, about voluntary recruitment to the COVID-19 vaccination programme.

“I willingly volunteered to provide support to the NHS in these testing times and literally to do my bit,” he says. “Having been retired and in lockdown, I felt it was a great opportunity to get out, meet people and do something worthwhile.”

Trevor spent most of his working life in consumer finance for Lloyds and Barclays banks. He was a senior manager responsible for a nationwide team of account managers specialising in the leisure sector.

Trevor’s team trained and managed the accounts of caravan and motorhome dealers, and holiday park operators, to ensure sales of finance were conducted within the law.

Now a vaccination volunteer co-ordinator at the Welcome Centre in Eastbourne, he finds his skills and experience have “proved invaluable in organising, motivating and acknowledging all teams’ efforts on every shift”.

Trevor ensures his team of volunteer stewards complete the required induction. He also organises individual roles to ensure the public are directed safely.

“Going forward, I feel quite positive and believe the NHS, with public support, will see us through the worst of this dreadful pandemic,” he says.
