Diagnostic Imaging Manager

I joined Sussex Community just a few months ago and the team are just fantastic. They have been so welcoming and have looked after me. We are bonding as a team, reviewing what we do well and are looking at ways to innovate and improve.

Despite the pressure and limitation of resources, I love the NHS because it's all about providing the highest quality of care to our patients. We rise to the challenge but it is not always easy.

Every day our team see about 50-90 patients for X-Ray and ultrasound. I work at Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital - it is such a friendly place and you get a real sense of serving the local community. Patients get a friendlier service here and the waiting times are much lower than attending the nearest acute hospital.

I previously worked for a large London acute hospital managing 80 staff and 16 different pieces of equipment, and although still busy at Bognor, I have a better work-life balance here.

Celebrating NHS 70

I'm sure we'll be baking cakes and bringing them in for colleagues to enjoy. We tend to mark National Radiography Day on 8 November - when we bake loads of cakes and get schools in to see our service.
