Tanya Procter

The role of governor enables me to combine personal and professional experience of the NHS and Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) in particular.

I have lived in Worthing since 2003, and know its geography and services well. My two children (aged 11 and 13) were born here and we have all three used SCFT’s health visiting and school nursing services. My husband has received cancer treatment for the last two years, and I have acted as his co-pilot in navigating health services during this time.

I have worked in or with the NHS for 25 years in a range of strategic, commissioning, public health and freelance roles. A strong component has been engagement with service users and co-development of services and I will bring insight and research skills and understanding to the Governor role.

Service design, development and improvement has been a second theme in my work. I have strong facilitation skills and work collaboratively to bring about change. Most recently, I led a service review, redesign and recommissioning of the West Sussex Healthy Child Programme (with SCFT as the incumbent and successful provider).

I have a MSc in Public Health and Management (distinction) and am a visiting lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
