What does this service provide?

Who we are

We are a community dental service for children and adults with additional needs who are unable to have treatment at a general dental practice.

What we do

We are a referral-only service, providing a range of dental treatments for children and adults with additional needs, including physical or learning disabilities, or where they have a need for additional support to receive treatment. We also provide home visits for dental treatment for patients who are housebound.


Appointment information

Who they'll see at their appointment

Patients are coming to see the dentist but will also see the receptionist and nurse and may see a dental therapist for treatments or advice.

What happens at the appointment?

An initial assessment allows us to assess the patient's dental needs, create an individual treatment plan and ensure we allow enough time to support their specific needs when treatment takes place.

What happens after treatment ends?

If the patient meets our criteria then they will be able to use our service for all ongoing check-ups and any further treatment. If they are able to manage a check-up at their own dentist, they will be discharged back to them and can be re-referred for treatment in the future if needed.


How can I access this service?

Referral to our service can be made by a healthcare professional. This may include GPs, dentists, school nurses and community and specialist nurses.

Opening hours

Our normal opening hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
