Will NHS foundation trust status mean more money for services?

The financial regime for all trusts remains challenging and we cannot expect NHS foundation trust status in itself will provide us with extra income. We will be free to borrow, if required, to invest in the trust, although we would need to be able to repay the loan with interest. 

It does mean that if we continue to manage our costs effectively and our clinical care strategy is right, we will gain money to invest in clinical innovation to provide better services for patients.
